We are pleased to announce our Fall 2016 Home Brew Challenge: GRUIT
Pre-dating the use of hops, Gruit was once common in Europe and the British Isles. Brewed using combinations of various herbs and spices such as yarrow, bog myrtle (also known as sweet gale), juniper, rosemary, lavender, and woodruff, Gruit can have a wide interpretation of flavors.
The winner will be invited to brew their recipe on the Ravens Brewing Company “pilot batch” system with Head Brew, Nick Fengler. Once ready, it will then be featured in the brewery tasting room, as well the winner will receive a $50 Gift Card. The 2 runners up with both receive a $25 gift card.
Submissions may be entered at the brewery from Nov. 2, 2016 - Nov. 30, 2016.
