Smoked Scotch Ale Chili

16oz. Ravens Smoked Scotch Ale

2 lbs. ground beef

6 cloves garlic, minced

2 onions, diced

28 oz can of tomatoes

1 can black beans, rinsed

1 can red kidney beans, rinsed

¼ cup chopped cilantro

¼ cup chili powder

3 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp lime juice

2 tbsp honey

1 tbsp ground cumin

1 tsp dried oregano

4 tsp minced jalapeno peppers

1 tsp ground cinnamon



  1. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in Dutch oven, medium heat

  2. Add beef, cook 5 min.

  3. Remove heat

  4. Place in bowl, season.

  5. Drain liquid. Add remaining oil, onion, saute 6 min.

  6. Add garlic, saute 1 min.

  7. Add chili powder, cumin, oregano, cinnamon, cook 2 min.

  8. Add beer, cook down.

  9. Add tomatoes, honey, peppers, black beans, red kidney beans, return beef to pot.

  10. Simmer 45 min.

  11. Stir in lime juice, cilantro before serving.

Pair with something dark and rich like our Dry Irish Stout or Clayburn Smoked Scotch Ale
